Operation Save the Purse

I'm on the Road Again!!

If you missed yesterday's post, you missed the gas incident that resulted in my purse being in trouble. (Oh, we got my car fixed first thing this morning and all is back to normal, now back to the purse.) When I say my purse is in bad shape....it is BAD!!! The gas stain did come out of my purse (thank you Bath & Body White Citrus); however, the smell will knock you down.

After I posted last night, I took a shower and by the time I got out, I could smell my purse across our place. I quickly took it outside to let it "air dry." I changed back into my 2010 Spring Kate Spade Purse; however, it looks so sad being used in November.

I was so thankful this morning when I remembered I would see some good friends tonight who could help give me some advice. And, they did not disappoint. They all had helpful ideas on how to get the smell out, and as I drove home from dinner I decided to conduct "Operation Save the Purse."

Tonight's Attempt - Coffee Grounds. I heard placing coffee in the bottom of the purse will help absorb the smell. Therefore, I headed straight to the kitchen!

Found Coffeegrounds - Carmel Vanilla - Hoping this will be enough!

Decided to Try my Sunglass Case First

Pouring in the Coffee

And More Coffee

Filing it Up - I am desparate.

Did the same thing in my purse.

And, placed the sunglass case and purse outside on our patio. I covered the chair with a towell, and wish my purse luck.

So, I am waiting to see what happens. Will report back tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

This is too funny! Not funny about how all this went down, but Operation save the Purse! I've been wondering how you'll get that smell out! Gas is awful! I was wondering if you could just hand wash it in Tide in the sink, but I'd be too afraid to ruin such a lovely purse! Looking forward to reading your good report tomorrow! ;)
