Thankgul Challenge - Why I Quit Posting Online

At the beginning of October, I had a goal of posting on social media each day something or someone I was thankful for each day; however, after a few days in, those closet to me began to say things like "yeah, I made your list, I was hoping I would" or  "I wondered if I will make your list this month?"

The feedback started coming just two and three days into the Thankful Challenge and continued each day. I was so caught off guard with the feedback, that I knew there was only one thing I could do.  I stopped posting online, because sharing my heart was  not about a popularity contest, it was supposed to be a time to give the Lord glory for all the good things in my life.

These things include:

- My Relationship with the Lord.
- Being married to Matt.
- Incredible Parents
- Amazing In-Laws
- A Brother-in-Law, Sis-in-Law, and Niece who mean the world to me.
- Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins that I don't see enough, but I love with everything in me.
- An awesome job that awards me so many opportunities, and I'm in awe that I get to make it my carreer.
- Co-Workers and Work Colleagues that I love working next to each and every day, and many who have become close friends.
- My tribe:  My closest friends that I am completely transparent with and I trust with my entire heart. They know who they are without me listing each of them, and I am so thankful for them.
- My home that I pray is a retreat for all that walk inside.
My health: I have had to fight for my health this year, but as I end the year, I am more disciplined and my health is getting better and better.
- And, so much more.

I did relearn something during this month of intentionally being thankful, its that thankful and grateful people are so much more happy and positive, and that it the only way I want to live.

I hope you had an incredible Thanksgiving, and if you haven't taken time to think about what you are grateful for, I encourage you to do that this weekend.

Thankfulness Day 11 - Our American Freedom

I am so thankful and honored to be an American, and to celebrate Veterans Day today. The service and sacrifice our veterans and their families are remarkable and truly humbling. God Bless America!

Lots of Thankfulness

I have not gotten about my Thankfulness posts; however, I decided to enjoy this past weekend and get caught up on posts today.

Thankfulness - Day 7
I am thankful for the amazing friendships the Lord has blessed me with.  However, several years ago, one friend came into my life and we haven't stopped talking since.  She is the best friend a gal could ask for, and one of the most giving people I have ever met.  I am so blessed to be friends with Laney, and so excited for all of the memories ahead.

Thankfulness - Day 8
I am thankful for Friendships that I can just “pick up” and go with.   I have several friendships that mean so much to me, and its not because I get to see those friends often, its because when I do see those friends, we just pick up from where we left off.  My good friend Nikki is truly one of the biggest blessings the Lord has ever given me.  We met our freshman year of high school, and have been close ever since.  We always pick up where we left off, and I know she is always there no matter what!!

Thankfulness - Day 9
I am thankful for my Church Parents – When I returned home after college, I started attending a different church than the one I grew up in.  I became a member; however, I did not have any close friends or family that I could consistently sit with and talk to each week.  (This came after years of being involved in the church.)  The Montgomery’s quickly “claimed” me, and I became their Church Daughter and “Sister” to their son.  Over the years, I still feel like part of their family.  I love them so very much, and so blessed the Lord has given me an “additional set” of parents/close friends!!

Thankfulness - Day 10
I am thankful for my best friend Tiffany.  I met Tif in 2003, and we've been close every since.  I love that we can share what the Lord is doing in our lives, and so excited about her new adventures in Texas with her hubby.

Day #3 of Thankfulness

Day #3 of Thankfulness - I am thankful for my parents who have always given me every opportunity to succeed, and encouraged me along the way. I love that I am an only child, and my childhood was simply the best. I am thankful for the home and encouraging environment my parents provided for me, which helped me grown into the person I am today. Thank you mom and dad for your unending love and support.   You are truly the best!!

Day #2 of Thankfulness

Its Day #2 of Thankfulness - I am thankful for an incredible marriage with my sweet husband, Matt.

How did I get so lucky, to meet the love of my life at age 16?  Matt is an incredible husband and my best friend.  He loves me for me, and sometimes knows me better than I know myself.  We are best friends and I truly love spending time with him.  And, as life continues to change and evolve, I am so blessed to know he will always be by my side.

Its November........... A Month of Thanksgiving

Often times, we are encouraged to focus on what we are thankful for instead of the things in life that worry us. That reminds me of that old hymn Count Your Blessings, where the lyrics say "Count your blessings name them one by one, count your blessings see what God hath done."

And, what better month than to celebrate the Lord's blessings than November.  Its the month of Thanksgiving, and also is a great time to reflect on God's goodness as we approach the Christmas season.  So, this month I am going to try and post each day on what I am thankful for in life.  I would love to know if you are doing the same, as I truly believe it will be a time for us to reflect on God's goodness and love for us.

Day #1 - I am thankful for my relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

I gave my heart to the Lord when I was 8; however, it wasn't until I was 23 until I gave Him my entire life.  I committed my actions, my emotions, and my life to Him.  And, I cannot express the incredible ride He has taken me on.  There were months and even years of tough lessons and lots of growing up, but I can honestly say I am amazed at His Faithfulness and Love and Goodness to Me.

Have a blessed weekend my friends!!
