Striving to Live a Life of Adventure, Excellence, and Faith.

Happy New Year!!!

Its 2011!!! I have a good feeling big things are coming for this year. We spent a quiet New Year's Eve in, watching one of our favorite movies "Grumpy Old Men" and enjoying time just relaxing and resting. I am still getting over this cold, and was not feeling like being too social. Today, I got up early and headed to the salon for a hair cut (new look for 2011), and did a little shopping. I picked up some fun jewelry at Forever 21, a few things at Sephora, and then had my nails done and eyebrows waxed. After a busy morning, I headed home for a quick bite for lunch and then a little work catch-up.

And since today is the "1st" of the month its time to submit my first Scripture Memory Verse for the LPM Blog. I chose to start the year with something that hits me really personally:

Anything I wanted, I would take. I denied myself no pleasure. I even found great pleasure in hard work, a reward for all my labors. But as I looked at everything I had worked so hard to accomplish, it was all so meaningless—like chasing the wind. There was nothing really worthwhile anywhere.” (Ecclesiastes 2:10-11: New Living Translation)

This verse says a lot to me because I am always giving into every one of my wants, desires, needs, etc. This includes things I eat, watch, participate in, etc. If I want a life that truly reflects the life of Christ, I must STOP giving into my flesh and be led to the spirit!

I am excited to be on the Scripture Memory Team again this year. I am honored to journey through the next 24 scriptures with an incredible group of ladies!

And, I am excited to journey through another year blogging. I truly enjoy getting to know many new friends through the blog, keeping up with friends and family who do not live close, and "journaling" life.

Here's to an incredible 2011, and enjoy my new favorite new version of Auld Land Syne!!
