Striving to Live a Life of Adventure, Excellence, and Faith.

Week in Review.........Hope in the Dark Success!!

Whew.......When you end a week with the word "whew," you know its been a dosey. And this week has defiantly been long and extremely tiring, and I am thankful that its FRIDAY!!!

I began the week on a "spiritual high," after a wonderful Spirit filled weekend in Chattanooga. I ended up skipping my last bootcamp workout and bible study on this week to spend some time with my hubby and to rest at night. I've been really tired all week, and I just can't seem to get enough sleep. Work this week has been fine, but each day had its own set of demands, which leads to lots to do and a never ending to-do list.

The highlight to my week was last night, when Matt and I headed to the Hope in the Dark Event at Thompson Boling Arena / University of Tennessee at Knoxville's Basketball Arena.

Here are a few pics of the event:

Hope in the Dark was an event put on by UT's Athletic Director and family to bring awareness and funding to the orphan crisis in Africa by joining forces with Show Hope and Blood Water Mission. Many children are left orphaned because the lack of clean blood (AIDS) and lack of clean water!

Here is the event before everyone sat down. Over 700 people attended.

The Watoto Children's Choir - AMAZING
(It was hard to get pics, because they moved and danced so much, that my camera could not focus....Ha!)

The event was a GREAT success. Raising over $230,000 in attendance alone, was just one of many blessings we experienced. The entire room was filled with Christians with a heart for Africa's aids, clean water, and adoption crisis. A couple at our table were weeks away from bringing home their 3rd adoptive child, who was from Ethopia.

During the Watoto's Children's Choir performance, a young girl in the choir said, "I am so thankful my Jesus did not forget me." And those words just made my heart melt. Every child on that stage was an orphan; yet, their hope was in Christ alone.

PRAISE THE LORD!!

And even though my week was long, and I'm exhausted, I am still praising the Lord for the Spirit that lives within me. My prayer is that one day I will be able to share God's unending love with an African Country, City, and/or Tribe, and truly be able to help bring hope to a world that is seeming hopeless.

And that my friends, is what our lives are all about.

Have a blessed weekend!!
