It's April!! And, before I go ANY Further..........we have to kick off April with one of my ALL TIME favorite Spring Songs!!
Anyways, Happy April Fools Everyone!! I don't have any jokes or pranks today; however, to go with the cliche, I guess I should prepare myself for the "April Showers" that are headed my way this month. And, to be honest, I've actually been looking at getting a new umbrella. My Umbrella from LouLou's actually bit the dust last month, and now I am stuck carrying a random DYI umbrella that I won in a random United Way giveaway last fall. Ha!!
Here are a few Umbrella's I've got my eye on:
As for other April happenings, I'm excited that its time for the Tulip Fest in Knoxville. More than 20,000 tulips are blooming at Crescent Bend along the Tennessee River, and if you have never been I would definitely recommend. Tulips are my ALL TIME FAVORITE flowers, and starting next week, I may start keeping tulips in my office to bring a "Spring" to my life.
I am so excited to kickoff April this weekend! March was an odd month, with a hectic and sometimes stressful occurrences. So, I am welcoming April with OPEN ARMS! I am looking forward to spending weekends outside, shopping for Spring clothes, and most of all EASTER (my all time FAVORITE Holiday of the year!!!)
To kick off the month, I thought I would participate in this week's Show Us Your Life at Kelly's Korner. This week's topic is "Show Us Your Church!" I am so excited about this post, because each week I get lots of people asking where we attend church, and I often begin with saying "the bubble church".
We are members at NorthStar church in West Knoxville. We started attending NorthStar over a year ago, and joined the church about this time last year. Matt and I had prayed for some time that the Lord send us to a church that we not only felt at home, but also a church that we could serve. As many of you know, I was extremely active in a church in the Tri-Cities for many years before I got married, and my friendships and ministry were everything to me. So,once we were married we set out on a journey that took us many directions and blessed us with many new friendships, yet, we finally landed at NorthStar and it is truly home.
So, you maybe wondering about the "Bubble." And, truth be told it wasn't the bubble that drew us to NorthStar, it was the fact that the Church leadership believed in investing more into people and ministry than a building the church may use twice a week. NorthStar is a non-denominational church; however, the core beliefs aligned with the Word of God and how Matt and I interpret the Word. And, to be quite honest, it honestly feels like a mix of my United Methodist upbringing and my First Assembly ministry.
So, you may be wondering what the inside of the Bubble looks like?

I have been very blessed this past year to be a part of NorthStar. I have been actively involved in the Women's Ministry, and we are making new friends each week. If you are interested in learning more, the church website is www.northstarknox.com. Service times are Sunday 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. And, our women's blog is http://northstarwomen.blogspot.com/.
Have a GREAT weekend, and if your looking for a new church in East Tennessee we would LOVE to have you visit NorthStar.

Happy April! I'm stopping by from Kelly's Korner. I love your header picture! So cute!
I'm originally from Nashville so when I saw TN in the list of blogs, I had to come over!
I love it! I'm visiting from Kelly's Korner too. At one point, our church purchased a "sprung building"/ bubble too! We actually never had it installed though, God graced us with the ability to build a new youth facility instead. Love your blog!
Well, my husband and I are new to Knoxville and are actually looking for a church. It is my least favorite thing to do after a big move...but it's so necessary. And thanks for mentioning the Tulip Festival. I had not heard of that, and my girls and I might enjoy it!
Maybe we'll be trying Northstar Church, too. Who knows?!
