"Flood of 2010" Concert......We Survived!!!

I married into a Jimmy Buffett Fan Family!! My husband and my bro-in-law are two of the biggest Buffett fans I know, and each year we make plans to attend a Buffett concert. We were super excited a few months ago to find out he was coming to Nashville (only a 3-hour drive), and without hesitation we decided that this would be the concert for us to attend in 2010.

I have been excited for this weekend for weeks, not only because of the concert, but mainly because I was looking forward to spending time with my Brother-in-law Jamie (aka "Henry" to me) and his girlfriend and my good friend, Kristy.

Kristy is one of the funniest and most giving people I know. I knew our weekend would be filled with lots of laughter, and I was not disappointed at all. In fact, on our drive home from dinner on Friday Night I laughed so hard, that it took me 10 minutes to stop laughing so I could catch my breath.....(these moments.....PRICELESS!!)

The two of them drove down Friday Night, and we headed to Farragut to Lakeside Tavern. The food was great, and we loved kicking off our weekend on the lake and the weather was incredible.

Our View from our Adirondack Chairs.....while waiting to be seated!!!

My sweetie and I, looking forward to the weekend!!

My brother-in-law, Henry, and Kristy!!
Sorry the pic is blurry, it was taken on our phone since I forgot my camera :-(

My two favorite "boys"

On Saturday, after Kristy and I ran a few errands, we hit the road only to run into a little ran. Not problem...we thought, we just enjoyed catching up with each other and laughing and sleeping along our trip!! We checked in the hotel, and relaxed a little. We considered going shopping at OpryMills; however, I didn't have a peace about leaving and we were afraid it would push us for time, so we decided to head downtown to the arena and enjoy a little "Parrothead" watching.

As we began getting ready, all four sets of parents called us to let us know about the rain. As we watched the news we realized that the "rain" was more like a "flood" and many of the interstates were in Nashville were closing. YIKES!!

We headed downtown, and took in the sights..........

Matt & Jamie on Broadway.....a slight break in the rain!

We liked this guys Hat.....inspiration for our next concert!!

After going in many many restaurants, we FINALLY found a place for dinner, while dodging the insane rainfall.

Waiting for our food.......Matt is excited to be OUT of the rain.
The boys forgot their jackets, and were soaking wet all night!!

The Rain Began to Get to Us................

Kristy was sad, because her blackberry wasn't working........ :-(

We finally made it to the Bridgestone Arena......this place was INCREDIBLE!!!

This was a pic I found online, but lets you see how BIG this place truly is!!

We headed inside, bought a few t-shirts, and got ready for the concert:

A little pre-show Fun!!!!

Encore #2........."He went to Paris"......my FAVORITE SONG!!!!

Then it was time for us to head back to the hotel...........and did I mention it was FLOODING!!! We had to walk 4 blocks, uphill, in the FLOODing rain, to catch our bus to our hotel. I don't think we had a dry place on us. OH MY GOODNESS!! Here was the aftermath:

We were SOAKED!!! I don't think I've EVER been that wet in life, without submerging myself in a body of water! Insanity!!

On Sunday, we braved the INSANE rain to make it back to Knoxville!!

After we cleared the "flooding" part of Nashville, we headed to "brunch" at Cracker Barrell. We had reservations at Opryland Hotel, but had to cancel because the highway to the Hotel was closed. BOOO!! But, Cracker Barrell was good, and we enjoyed our "last meal" together.

All and All our weekend was GREAT!!! I loved spending time with Jamie and Kristy, and looking forward to the "BOAT" in June.

Love Ya,
