"Holy to the Lord" - Is that on my forehead?

I just finished my 10 week bible study on the Book of Esther, and I can hardly believe my eyes that I've reached the end. As I began the study, I knew that the Book of Esther demonstrated God's Sovereignty and His love and care for His people. Yet, from Week 1, one of my goals of the study was to allow God access to heal my world-torn soul and allow me to experience His security in my reality. Many who read the Book of Esther believe the conflict of the story is between men and women; however, this misses the entire point of the Book. The conflicts in Esther are those caught in the crossfire between wisdom and foolishness, modesty and licentiousness, bravery and cowardice, waiting and acting, living and dying. Can you relate? I could.

I relearned over the past 10 weeks, that God's purpose for me to be on this journey was to help me recapture both my identity and identification as His child. One paragraph in the study WOWed me to the point that I am still thinking about. I want to share it with you...........

'Since God's providence is the theme of Esther, the absence of His obvious activity invites us to imagine the divine activities behind the scene. If we could only see what is happening around us in the unseen realm, our eyes would nearly pop out of socket. Don't you wonder what transpires in the unseen realm when someone accepts Jesus as a personal Savior? Luke 15:7 tells us heaven rejoices over a solitary sinner who repents. Think about it. Angels party over human repentance!!

So much that would thrill us - lies beyond our sight.

Covenant children of God are marked - even dressed - in ways obvious to both heaven and hell but invisible to man. I'm not sure we don't bear an inscription on our foreheads somewhat like the one prescribed by God for the plate of the priest's turban. The engraving "Holy to the Lord" was the first thing people saw when they looked in the face of the priest. Ironically, one hint suggesting the possibility of such a mark is a counter reaction of the Evil One in Revelation 13:16-17,14:9-10.

Anything God does, Satan loves to counterfeit. A Christian may fret at times over lack of certainty concerning her salvation, but I don't believe the Evil One ever wonders who belongs to God and who does not. We are blatantly identifiable in robes of righteousness and garments of salvation.'

Whew...........I don't know about you, but I am about to jump out of my chair and begin dancing with the idea that I may have an inscription on my forehead. This thought just amazes me, its outside my box of thinking. How about you?
