When the event ended, I quickly headed home and changed and headed to Gatlinburg to celebrate my good friend Melanie's Bachelorette weekend. Mel and I have been friends since college, and even though life has taken us in so many different directions, we still are close and I truly consider her one of my closest friends.
We did Gatlinburg up right, and here is a picture of the group in our themed "air brushed" t-shirts:
I had a great time with all the girls, and after dinner and a short stop at Crawdaddies, I headed back to Knoxville around midnight. However, with all the stand still traffic and car shows in Pigeon Forge, my trip home took almost 4 hours (it should have only taken 1 hour). I was so tired by the time I crawled into bed at 4 a.m.
Yet, as I sat there in traffic, by myself, I had a lot of time to think about all that has happened in my life over the last few months. With changing jobs, working to complete my old job, getting involved with new projects at Church, United Way, and other community organizations, balancing friendships, marriage, my relationship with God, and so much more, I realized how blessed I am in life with amazing friends.
I have so many good friends, who I talk to often and experience life with each day; however, I have four friends who I can honestly say I could not live without. Each one enriches my life in different ways, and my life wouldn't be complete without their love, friendship, and encouragement. And, the funny thing is that my four closest friends are all Long-Distance Friendships. I don't see them often enough, but I know they are always a phone call away. They are all friends who I sometimes talk to everyday, and other times only talk to once a month. They are always there, and they know and accept the real me. I love them each so very much, and I hope they know I am always there no matter what!
Sometimes when life gets out of control, and our busy schedules keep us from spending time with those we love most, its comforting to know that I have four amazing, beautiful, and wonderful friends who are always there no matter what life throws our way.
Nikki, Allison, Tiffany, and Melanie
This is a picture from my wedding in 2007, and I have it framed in my office where I see them each day!
The Lord is so good to me. I have amazing friendships with so many great women. I am blessed with my small bible study group, the women's ministry leadership team at church, my Fair family, my co-workers, and my business friendships. All the amazing relationships mean the world to me, and thank you to all my friends whom I love with all my heart!
